Hotmelt Wateproofing System

The ShieldTEC Hotmelt system is a fully bonded bitumen based membrane incorporating a high tensile heat-resistant polyester fabric that is part of a system designed to fully seal areas in inverted, warm, and below ground specifications. When used in a suitable specification the self-healing membrane will fully waterproof any area for beyond the expected life of any structure.

ShieldTEC Monolithic Hot Melt is a synthetic polymer modified membrane designed to be laid hot and adheres superbly to almost any substrate to create a fully bonded monolithic membrane across the entire roof area. It has been specifically designed, tested and certified to withstand sub-zero temperatures, as well as substrate movement (where an expansion joint is not required) and a fire rating of Broof(t4). The ShieldTEC waterproofing system is a BBA certified, fully bonded non-tracking system.

ShieldTEC can be used in conjunction with ShieldLIVING, ShieldBLU and ShieldSCAPE systems. In living roof scenarios a root prevention layer, such as ShieldROOT M, must be applied above or as the top layer of the system to prevent the penetration of root through the waterproofing.

ShieldTEC Hotmelt Systems can be used in Horizontal, sloped and Vertical surfaces.

The self-healing properties of the Hotmelt compound also allows it to autonomously repair minor damage in warm weather.

The ShieldTEC hot melt system is also the UK’s only BBA certified Hot Melt system for warm roof applications
